MKTG 345-Week 3- Intro to Web Analytics



Web Analytics comes from the idea of CASA which is short for the core areas of digital marketing. The core areas of digital marketing are; Content/SEO, Adwords, Social Media Marketing, and Analytics. All of these ideas are independent on each other in some form. 

Looking directly at Web Analytics this weekly blog is going to be my journey of understanding Google Analytics. It's a free tool that people can use to help get a better understanding of who is clicking on their website. This is not the only thing it does but it's a general idea of what it entails. It's a great way starting point if you want to try other analytics programs/tools.   

Creating an account is very easy, all you need is a google account and a website you want to track. For the sake of this learning experience I will be using this as my website. When signing up you just want to make sure you add the property which is your website. This way you can track and start collecting data. Key note is to make sure you use your tracking ID on your website so that you can get this data. It may take 24 hours to see some data but soon you will.
