MKTG 345-Week 7- WCIYP Ch. 5: Six Secrets of Salary Negotiations
This chapter revolves around six secrets of salary negotiations, for the sake of this blog I will cover two I personally find very important.
Secret #3 Never Be the First One to Mention a Salary Figure. You don't want to set yourself too lower and at the same set yourself too high. You always want your employer to be the first to give you a figure so that you can negotiate with them.
Secret #4 Research on Typical Salaries for Your field and in That Organization. Having a rough idea of a figure when you want to negotiate will help you get paid what you want to be paid. This book gives many websites but I want to look at salary.com. I searched "marketing in Los Angeles California" and my results showed they make roughly $58,484. This is a great tool because you can also compare different jobs.
