MKTG 345-Week 11- WCIYP Ch. 9 You Get to Choose Where You Work

This chapter involves a step-by-step guide on deciding where you get to work, yes you decide! That's because you've done a self inventory, aka the flower exercise, in which now you may have a better idea of what works best for you. Job-hunting doesn't seem that scary after you look at this easy guide. I will be covering two of the five steps that are inside this chapter.

#2 Try on Some of Those Jobs Before You Decide Which One to Pursue. Imagine your dream job and how one day you may picture it. Sometimes it's either too good to be true or it is definitely a dream to work in. In order to find this out you have to interview, yes interview, people in that field. See how what their pros/cons are and what it took for them to get there. Everyone is different and you have to keep that in mind. If you do end up getting your dream job and decide it's not all that great, you can keep looking! Don't get stuck in a place where you can't grow into the person/job you want to be in.

#3 Find Out What Kinds of Organizations Have Such Jobs. In the above step you may have said your dream job was to be a sports marketer. Well now you have to decided which organization you would want to work for because every job title has different organizations. You could want to work for hockey, baseball, or the Olympics. That being said you need to look at what different organizations do for that job title because they may not all be the same. Doing this research will help your job-hunting become easier.
