MKTG 347- Week 13- Amazon Go Store

Even if we are not on board with AI, companies are definitely jumping into AI. One company that is starting with this is Amazon. They created a store that revolves and works on AI which is very cool. Amazon Go is a store without employees and everything is tracked with sensors. This is based out in Seattle. You basically walk in and walk out without physically paying for your items at a cashier.

This is the way it works, you download the Amazon Go app to your phone. You scan this when you walk into the store. Walking around and pick the things you want to buy and add them to your cart. Every time you take something off the shelf the sensor recognizes it and added this to the list of your receipt. After grabbing what you want you basically are allowed to just walk out of the store and it will charge you with what you purchased.

After the initial first day it was opened many consumers were upset with the fact that they had to wait in line to enter the store because it was supposed to be a fast connivence store but it was not the case when it first opened. This obviously would happen because it was the first day it was opened and they need to fix the mistake.

If this runs smoothly, there could be more store we see in the future without cashiers. It's crazy to think that we won't have to drive anymore and we won't have to deal with cashiers, all due to AI.
