Bots are automated computer programs that hit your website or blog. This is not an actual person who clicks on your page which can influence your data. Smart bots can lead to creating spikes in your data which can throw off your results. There are some ways to fix them and one of them is to filter them. This step is called filtering spam bots with custom filters. Step 1: Acquisition > All traffic > Referrals Step 2: Sort Referral Traffic by Bounce Rate Step 3: Create a list of domains that you. MKTG 345-Week 14- WCIYP Ch. 12 How to Start Your Own Business

Image
Job hunting is hard when you are just not finding what best for you. Sometimes you have an idea in your head or dream that you should go after. Maybe the Flower exercise showed you that you're independent and have those leadership skills. Using those skills or those dreams can drive you to start your own business. I personally can relate because my family has their own business. I also want to start a photography business when I graduate. These hobbies you have in which you're passionate about can grow into a business. Take those hobbies of yours and put them into plans. A way to research these links are very helpful: Working Solo www.workingsolo.com/resources/resources.html Small Business Administration www.sba.gov Business Owner's Toolkit www.bizfilings.com/toolkit

Now I will be able to track who visits my websites and blogs.

MKTG 345-Week 13- WCIYP Ch. 11 The Five Ways to Choose/Change Careers

Image
Deciding on a career change may seem difficult but it doesn't have to be. One of the five ways to change or choose your career was the flower exercise we talked about on a previous blog post. That isn't the only thing you have to use in order to find a job or change to another job. Here are two more options you can use.  #1 The Internet. This one is simple and always available to you in which it generates information quickly. One website to check out is  www.onetonline.org/search  where you can search careers or occupations. It gives you information such as, if it is in demand, number of opening anticipated and preparation or training required. It's a great tool to get some added information on the career you're looking at.  #2 Tests. This type of test is more of an assessment. It does only help sometimes because not every person will fall into one specific category. This is used to help guide you in the direction that is best suited for the personality ...

MKTG 345-Week 12 - Exploring Youtube Analytics

Image
Everyone at some point of time in high school had to create a video explaining a certain topic that was being taught in class. Looking back to when I took French class in high school, my teacher allowed us to create a video that was a restaurant skit. Fast-forward to today where I am a senior in college taking a Google Analytic course. We were looking at the YouTube Analytics they offer on their website. While I came across my analytics were all 0's because it was for the past week. When I changed it to Lifetime, I found an enormous amount of data because I had posted a bloopers video of my french skit. Well, needless to say people in France watched our bloopers video and probably made fun of us Americans. This is probably the only time I am thankful my high school teacher made us create a video for class.

MKTG 345-Week 12- WCIYP Ch. 10 How to Deal with Any Handicaps You Have

Image
Have you ever felt that you can't be hired somewhere because you feel you have a handicap that holds you back? This can be a physical handicap, not having a qualification, age, race, gender or appearance. It doesn't necessarily have to do with a physical handicap, it just has to be something you feel that will hold you back from not getting hired.  The most important thing I took away from this chapter is the fact that employers divide you into two categories, what you can do and what you can't do . This may seem defeating if you feel that they put you into the category of "what you can't do" but this gives you the opportunity to show them things you can do that can help with showing how you can fix those can't do. If you see this in your interview you can explain to them that those "what you can't do" are your weakness but a strength of mine is understanding those weaknesses and creating them into a strength.

MKTG 345-Week 11- WCIYP Ch. 9 You Get to Choose Where You Work

Image
This chapter involves a step-by-step guide on deciding where you get to work, yes you decide! That's because you've done a self inventory, aka the flower exercise, in which now you may have a better idea of what works best for you. Job-hunting doesn't seem that scary after you look at this easy guide. I will be covering two of the five steps that are inside this chapter. #2 Try on Some of Those Jobs Before You Decide Which One to Pursue. Imagine your dream job and how one day you may picture it. Sometimes it's either too good to be true or it is definitely a dream to work in. In order to find this out you have to interview, yes interview, people in that field. See how what their pros/cons are and what it took for them to get there. Everyone is different and you have to keep that in mind. If you do end up getting your dream job and decide it's not all that great, you can keep looking! Don't get stuck in a place where you can't grow into the person/job ...

MKTG 345-Week 11 - Exploring Google Analytics Certification

Image
Taking this course has given me the opportunity to receive a certification in Google Analytics. Every week I have been going through the training and learning how it works. Including posting a blog every week in order to see data. This has been a great learning tool because I am real life information and creating my own data. Google Analytics provides such a great learning tool that incorporates being able to visually see it done and doing it hands on.  If you want to add Google Analytics Certification on your LinkedIn profile and learn how this amazing tool go to, www.google.com/partners to register.

MKTG 345-Week 10- WCIYP Ch. 8 Self-Inventory, Part 2

Image
This week is all about actually doing the self-inventory portion. You could get the workbook version for $10 and the title is What Color Is Your Parachute? Job-Hunter's Workbook, Fourth Edition. This way you can get the worksheets. It looks like what is above in the picture but it has changed over the years. This flower gives you a better grasp of how you view yourself by doing different exercises. You can mentally answers what is in the flower without reading the exercises but it will not fully express the right answers because you are not mentally going through the tasks. That's why this is so important and is more effective in understanding yourself.
